PrivacyGuard is designed to keep your identity and credit information secure. Every year, consumers have to spend billions of dollars to try and restore their credit and their identity. Active monitoring can help you monitor your credit daily with 24/7 honest credit monitoring.
Three main plans are available:
- Credit Protection
- Identity Theft Protection
- Total Protection
Once you enroll, you begin enjoying member benefits and your credit report will be available within seconds. You’ll be able to request a new credit report every 30 days, and if you want to request an additional report, it will cost additional money.
Each plan comes with a monthly premium (more on that below), but they offer different levels of protection to consumers.
Can You Make Corrections on Your Credit Report with PrivacyGuard?
Privacy Guard is designed to help you monitor your credit history, but they’re not a credit report company. Instead, they will alert you to key issues on your report. Another key benefit is that you’re supplied with printable dispute forms that you can send to a creditor.
You’ll need to do all of the submission work, but you’ll be able to monitor your report through PrivacyGuard to see if the error on the report has been corrected.
PrivacyGuard Credit Protection
Credit Protection costs $19.99 a month and offers you a variety of credit information and tools to help you monitor your credit. When you sign up, you’ll gain access to all three credit bureau reports each month along with 24/7 daily credit monitoring.
While the service will monitor your credit, you’ll only be able to pull reports once per month.
Calculators are available that will provide you with tools, such as:
- Mortgage calculator
- Home budget
- Auto loan
You’ll gain access to the PrivacyGuard app, email and text alerts, secure browser and keyboard, credit score simulator, credit info hotline, ID fraud agent and credit info hotline. All of this information is the ideal choice for anyone that wants to monitor and improve their credit.
Through the credit simulator you’ll be able to make smarter decisions that will impact your credit.
You can decide to cancel an account, but before you do, the simulator will tell you how the lower credit availability will impact your credit score.
While there is no identity theft protection, the team will guide you on what you need to do if your identity is stolen. In most cases, you’ll be asked to go to the next plan we’re going to talk about: Identity Protection.

Is Privacy Guard Accurate?
Yes, but there does seem to be some issues. Privacy Guard uses the three credit bureaus and their own software to scan the Internet and Dark web – among several others – to identify potential identity theft.
Consumer reviews are the best source of information with identity protection because you’re able to see what others have to say about the accuracy and protection being offered.
Privacy Guard Reviews
Consumers have been using this product for years with great success, but there are blips of complaints that popped up in 2019 that included:
- Error fixes on the account not working
- Wrong credit score for one user kept popping up
I’m not sure what happened in these two instances, as most people are very happy with their service. Most of the other complaints have to do with prices rising over the years and one or two people that had their accounts cancelled.
Some account login issues were reported in 2018, but these seem to be corrected.
Aside from this, Privacy Guard seems to work as intended. Customers love the fact that you receive notifications and alerts for changes to their account. The site makes it easy to monitor your credit and keep on top of your identity.
Overall, Privacy Guard is well-rated and works very well. Multiple plans make it an affordable option for consumers that want to monitor their identity and/or credit.
